After cancelling their show at the Wiener Stadthalle in February, British band The 1975 are finally returning to Austria on July 1st for an open-air show at the Arena Wien. One could say their melodic sounds mixed with the theatrical stage show are better suited for a warm summer night anyway.
Singer Matt Healy never had trouble commanding an audience with a mix of childlike arrogance and nostalgic dreaminess that reflects perfectly in the band’s music. With pop, alt-rock, jazz, and R’n’B influences, The 1975 don’t like to stick to one genre. They convincingly invite fans to dance along as well as experience the emotions they deal with in their songs and wear on their sleeves for everyone to see. The perfect combination of their funkier debut The 1975 and the more mature, atmospheric I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It.
