Last year, we called Camden Rocks “one of London’s best music events” – and guess what? IT’S THIS WEEKEND. Seriously – look at the amount of bands they’ve got going on. So, to help you prepare for a day packed with running around to catch excellent music, we’ve got some top picks for you.
Not gonna lie, at Indulge Sound we kind of adore Love Zombies, and think that the opportunity to see them live isn’t one to be passed up lightly. They’ve snagged a lot of opening slots over the last year, but Camden Rocks ’14 was definitely a highlight for their live prowess.
One of those bands tinged with classic sounds but full of modern spirit! If you’ve seen them, share the gift of great music with a friend; if you’ve not seen them, treat yourself! There’ll likely be some goodies from their upcoming Love Lies Dying album, so definitely a great time to catch them.
Last time we saw Rob Lynch, he had “a varied set, ranging from a tongue-in-cheek number about getting beaten up by ‘chavs’ wearing Christmas jumpers to a heartfelt and moving song about the death of his father”. He’s one that can charm you with emotive songs, and lure you in with unexpected humour – the best kind of performer.
The word ‘Ramone’ is pretty much synonymous with punk, so in that spirit it’s worth taking a stop by this set to revel in a great burst of music. Check his Facebook and the man himself calls it: “This will be a good one.” So, see you there.
While She Sleeps
The thing about seeing a great band a few years ago is that they don’t always maintain that spark that first drew you to them, but if this year’s Hit The Deck is anything to go by, WSS have just continued to grow into something monstrously huge. “Their performance is utterly visceral […] It’s intense, it’s bloody brutal, and it’s the clear indication that they’re back with a damn vengeance.”
Camden Rocks takes place on May 30th across various venues in Camden.
