Lots going on with Enter Shikari.

Having recently announced they will be recording their new album in the coming weeks, starting in Thailand, Enter Shikari have a lot more exciting things coming up that fans should expect. The foursome will be releasing a new single, live DVD and playing a small, one off London date.

The single – ‘Quelle Surprise’ – will be released on May 19th, for no other reason than the fact it was finished, the band loved it and felt it was better in the hands of fans rather than gathering dust. It will, for now, remain a digital single as part of an EP which includes 2 remixes of ‘Destabilise’ (one by Rou, one by Creatures of Love). A limited edition 2×7 (one red vinyl, one white vinyl) pack of the EP will also be available on Monday, 11th July.

The DVD – ‘Live From Planet Earth’ – will also be released on 11th July. This collection consists of one CD (‘Live at Hatfield’ – Christmas 2010) and 2 DVDs. One DVD consists of ‘Live At Hatfield. Christmas 2010’ and ‘Live At Camden Underworld’ from August 2010. The second will contain ‘Fizzy Water & Spikey Blankets (A Weekend In Russia. May 2010)’ + ‘Live At Hammersmith. February 2010’ + ‘Live At Summersonic, Tokyo. August 2009’. This will be available from regular stores. A limited edition is available, detailed below:

Released as a pre-order ONLY from the band’s own webstore, this – alongside the standard version of the DVD – will contain:

DVD 3 – which compiles archive footage recorded by the band, crew, family & friends next to professionally shot footage from all over the world. Some of this footage dates back as far as 2005 (!!) and includes songs long lost into the mists of time.

‘Images From Planet Earth’- a 60 page photo scrapbook of shots taken around the world. Backstage, onstage, in the van, drunk, asleep.. no corner of the ‘live on the road’ experience has been left untouched. PLUS an Enter Shikari laminate that will, over time, occasionally allow special discounts / surprises when presented at the merch desk at shows (we’re still figuring out how this will work practically. We’re getting there, but aren’t 100% on top of it yet).

Pre-orders for both the standard edition (from the likes of Play.com / Amazon / HMV.co.uk etc) and the limited edition box set (only from www.entershikari.com/store) start on Monday 16th May.

Finally, the show – which can be for reasons from the band’s return from Thailand to a birthday celebration to Rory, it’s up to you – will take place on Wednesday, June 15th at Camden Dingwalls, London. Tickets are available from midday on Saturday, 14th May from entershikari.com. The show is 16+ and tickets are 2 per person. More guests and details will be revealed over time.
